Piano & Music Theatre

Josh Benson-Merron spent his childhood in Marin County playing piano, singing, and acting in community theatre productions. In college he became more interested in academics, then moved to New York and took a corporate job. However after four years in the corporate world, his heart yearned to get back into music. He studied Piano at Juilliard’s evening division for a year which was a life-changing and transformative experience. It was then that he decided to seriously pursue his interests in music. He is currently at College of Marin pursuing an A.A. in Music with plans to get a Bachelors and then Masters of Music after that. He is also currently music director and piano accompanist for a musical theatre production at Wade Thomas Elementary School. In addition to piano, Josh likes to sing, is learning to play the guitar, and is most likely listening to classical music at any hour of the day. Josh is a firm believer in the power of music to heal and transform people’s lives, and hopes to use his love of music to inspire and empower others to cultivate their own unique self-expression.
