Jessica Kozachuk has been playing the flute for 13 years. She is originally from Santa Barbara, California where her passion for music was awakened at an early age—beginning with studying classical piano, then voice, she eventually found her way to her true passion of flute playing. She was a member of the MERIT (Music Education Reinforces Intellect and Talent) Program for two years. Jessica played flute on her church worship team for four years and played in various high school and college spring musical orchestras multiple times. She has participated in many MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) Fall, Winter, and Bach Festivals and was chosen as a finalist each time she competed.
Jessica has had the privilege of being a part of masterclasses given by world-renowned flutist Jill Felber and has been awarded scholarships by the Santa Barbara Music Club as well. She was also a member of the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony for four years and was a winner of their concerto competition, enabling her to solo with the Youth Symphony at the Lobero Theater. Additionally, Jessica was an active member of the Westmont College music department, where she was principle flute in the orchestra. She also participated in multiple chamber groups at Westmont where she gained experience with both string and woodwind groups. Jessica auditioned for multiple concerto competitions with the Westmont College Orchestra and was selected to solo with the orchestra multiple times, further fostering her love for performing. Jessica has performed with several professional orchestras, including the West Coast Symphony Orchestra in Southern California.She has studied flute with Dr. Linda Holland as well as Andrea DiMaggio. In her spare time, Jessica loves to sing, run, hike, and bake.
